Paulson Place Challenge

Project Description

The Paulson Place Challenge is a 6-week remote research group within the Wellesley College Summer Research Program that provides an opportunity for students to work build scientific skills and understanding working on meaningful scientific projects, while also connecting to an interdisciplinary group of faculty, staff, and fellow students. This summer’s Paulson research challenge was centered on “place” - in which I observed, documented, collected, analyzed, and interpreted data on some aspect of my own neighborhood, rather than collectively exploring Wellesley’s campus as in a typical summer. My group and I decided to focus specifically on flood prevention in our neighborhoods collected data on the water collection of permeable (parks) vs impermeable( concrete, sidewalk) areas.
